This one is for My friend Prof. Bayram and all the reptile lover. Thank you for viewing.

The Green vine snake (Ahaetulla nasuta), is a slender green tree snake found in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

The green vine snake is diurnal and mildly venomous. The reptile normally feeds on frogs and lizards using its binocular vision to hunt. They are slow moving, relying on camouflaging as a vine in foliage. The snake expands its body when disturbed to show a black and white scale marking. Also, they may open their mouth in threat display and point their head in the direction of the perceived threat. There is a widespread myth in parts of southern India, that the species uses its pointed head to blind its human victims.

Dear Haraprasan!

Your picture simply is superb! It's amazing to notice the unity of the colour tones between the snake and its environment. Your picture reflects the snakes ability for camouflage at best. The snake's pose, the lighting and the fine compsoition with a blurred part right between the snake's head are magnificent.

Kind regards

Hi Haraprasan,

Are you sure this is a photo and not a painting? It is very artistic and beautiful. I love how the snake seems to be moving into the picture with his body draped over the branch. The face is amazing with the opened mouth and the fantastic eye. The body and its markings are outstanding. Although he is so well camouflaged he stands out clearly because of the fine details and excellent clarity. The colors are magnificent and most unusual.

Hi Haraprasan. Great photo of a well-camouflaged snake between leafs. Great moment you captured this! Nice dedication to Prof. Bayram too. TFS

hello Haraprasan

WOW ! great shot of this camouflaged snake
with his environment, shot with very fine POV, DOF
and framing, superbly focused with great sharpness and details,

Great shot HP, I especially like the green on green, and cool profile view of its open mouth..
Well done :)

My dear friend Haraprasan,
A splendid photo of the green vine snake! A splendid dedication for Bayram, which he deserves so much.

Unfortunately my books are packed for moving to another town. But I am quite sure, that this snake does not occur in South Africa.

The Vine Snake here is much darker, sort of muddy brown, has the distinctive ''vine leave'' pattern over the whole body and lives in climbing plants (fences). The South African Vine Snake is also quite poisonous and no antidote exist.

Thank you very much for sharing this interesting photo,
Have a nice evening
Warm Regards

Well done HP, Excellent photograph with perfect details & sharpness. TFS
