I defer to Ivan or others for complete ID. A year or more ago Ivan correctly ID' similar as a small black wasp. Mind you the flower I measured is just 1/3rd inch so the insect is tiny as can be.....My Leica lens was about 1 inch from the subject. Correct ID will be published here with your name:-)

I certainly have my limits Bob!
I can neither specify the ID of this wild rose, nor that of its visitor, a small solitary wasp.
The diversity of life on this planet is beyond my grasp and I am grateful for that!
A nice image that seems to have been taken a year and one day ago that is great to view.
Thanks,
Ivan

Hello Bob,

good to see another picture from you from your archive.
I do not know the ID, insects are to difficult for me.
Fine colours, the insect are walking on the edge but he can fly....

Hi Bob,

This is a very pretty picture of the lovely still to be identified flower. Here we would call it a Wildflower and we would say the insect is a bug! Very pretty colors and fine details that look gorgeous against the green leaves.

Hi Bob!
Good to see you posting again.
Ivan has hinted at the ID of the winged insect atop a flower you have captured rather well in this shot.
Though the size of the subject is too small in this picture to facilitate identification, the composition as a whole is pleasing to look at.

Hello Bob,
A nicely composed shot of this beautiful flower and what looks like a type of Sweat Bee, quite possibly (Lasioglossum) Excellent detail and wonderful DOF with good exposure and natural coloration. Great work!!

Hi Bob,

The close-up point of view is showing the details and colors of the insect and of the flower. It is well placed in the frame. The afternoon light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. have a nice day.
