[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello friends, it is been long time i posted my
last photo, the last time i was dreaming to a new
camera the new Panasonic FZ100 that can shoot
at 11 image per second in full resolution, but when
i start to view photos from that new camera i was
very disappointed (images of ISO 400 and higher)
and 2 - 3 weeks ago i stopped dreaming it

at his place i started to dream a expert compact
with larger (compact camera) sensor like the
Panasonic LX5, Canon S95, the coming Canon G12
and i also knewed Nikon Coolpix P7000 was to come

well today Nikon launched the new Coolpix P7000,
today we are the 8 september and the 8 september
in 2008 i was shooting this Eastern Cottontail Rabbit
photo with my small point & shoot Nikon Coolpix P60

the Nikon Coolpix P60 has a small compact camera
sensor but i am very satisfied with the image quality
and the focusing speed for his category of camera,
with that small point & shoot i also did bird in-flight shots

being satisfied with the small Coolpix P60 i am sure
the expert Coolpix P7000 would give me better images
it is the reason why today i decide it will be my next
camera and friends i am no more changing my mind
and because i want also to continue with Nikon

only one thing i am not loving from the new
Nikon Coolpix P7000 it is his burst mode
that it is around only 1 image per second,
but with my actual Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd
i already shoot only one photo at the time

and it is more rewarding having a spectacular
photo shot with only one shot than with a burst
mode of 5 - 7 or 10 images per second

i already have 2 shots of my dogs flying over the water
and they where shot with only one shot, no burst mode

they are the 2 photos that i will post in the WS

Hello Asbed,
As I am getting old it won't be long before I can no longer carry my heavy equipment and I am pleased to see that the development of compact cameras is progressing. This should mean that a camera weighing a tenth of my equipment should be able to do the same job with the same technical standard.
This is probably what you are waiting for and it should happen soon!
In the meantime this is a nice one from your archives, the rabbit being taken in a fine pose against the natural green BG and set in an excellent composition.
We'll keep our fingers crossed !

Jolie composition et bon pdv.Le detail est excellent et l'image est bien en focus.Parcontre je trouve que le vert est un peux trop saturé mais de l'autre cioté il y a une effet magique qui est crée.

La végétation cadre bien le lapin. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs du lapin qui semble observer les environs. La qualité de la lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Impressive image taken from short distance as far as my senses suggest Asbed! Great point of view and dramatic framing! I love the presence of the bright sun and your enthusiastic notes too! Nice shot of this cute little bunny captured in a wonderful low POV. He looks exactly like our Eastern Cottontails here in Ohio. I love the WS photos of your beautiful dogs Celtic and Ranger too.
I also checked out the photos taken with the Nikon Coolpix P7000 and must say they are very impressive.

This rabbit is wondering if you have really made up your mind this time. It's so nice to see one on thick green grass instead of on gravel or dirt! I love the shots of Celtick and Ranger - beautiful dogs and wonderful action shots. Looking forward to seeing pictures from your new Nikon next month!
