[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis)[3] is a species of sheep in North America[4] with large horns. These horns can weigh up to 30 pounds (14 kg), while the sheep themselves weigh up to 300 pounds (140 kg).[5] Bighorn Sheep are often confused with Mountain Goats, another mammal that occupies mountainous regions. Recent genetic testing indicates that there are three distinct subspecies of Ovis canadensis, one of which is endangered: Ovis canadensis sierrae.

The bighorn sheep originally crossed over the Bering land bridge from Siberia: the population in North America peaked in the millions, and the bighorn sheep entered into the mythology of Native Americans. However, by 1900 the population had crashed to several thousand. Conservation efforts (in part, by the Boy Scouts) have restored the population.

Hi Alain , great photograph of this bighorn sheep , with nice light, a good composition and rich color , I think the large amount of blue sky from this low point of view adds a lot with the warmer colors set against it , good job , thanks for sharing

Hi Alain,
You chose a very nice perspective for this picture. The colours are wonderfully vivid (a nice blue sky can do so much for a picture) and the light is very beautiful. Well done.
Kind regards,
Josien

Interesting light and a well managed exposure Alain.
I enjoy the setting and BG, great details/POV :)
Have a great weekend!

Hi Alain,
Very good shot of this impressive male big horn sheep. I have seen them at Glacier National and Bnaff. I was just in awe with their impressive horn and yet very elegant.

Great quality shot, rich colors and tone, but not overly saturated, just right. and wonderful low POV and composition.

Bonjour Alain,
Anne
