Lovely sharp shot of this beauty, the POV is nice and effective too. I think the natural background consisting decaying and growing floal elements works well in this instance.
TFS and have a nice night MF!
It is typical of a mid shot to have plenty of details around the subject so that the relationship between the bird and its environment is clearly seen, Bob. Your picture shows this colorful pheasant in that situation.
The bird is getting away from you and you have captured the impression that is is a hurry alright.
Thanks and regards.

I like this shot, Bob!
People in India love pheasants', it's a delicacy here.
They are very difficult to click and prefer to stay out of sight in bushes or ditches.
Very well done!

5 and a half years is not a long time, especially for us old-timers Bob, but it is a long time for digital photography. The technical advances made since then have gone in leaps and bounds, but this image has some of the qualities that would match shots made today, especially the details and colours shown on this fine cock pheasant, at nearly 100ft!
Thanks and take care,

Yes your memory of wilderness is lovely, you still have a lot of pictures in your head, you still can feel the wind and smell the flavours in your mind. Must have been a pleasant meeting with this wild pheasant. There are still some in my country too and we don't see them so often. Last year my sister had one in her garden for a few days.
I hope you are doing well.

Memories are lovely indeed I have memories of hunting these wonderful birds when I was young back in 1968 - 1970 but my heart wasn't in the killing so I quit. I do remember how Mom would cook them and they were incredible. Your image could easily fit with my memories as they do yours. My friend you are making memories now with your progress and soon your disability will be a memory. Perhaps in the spring when our part of the world awakens from winter you'll be able to go out and make more memories in your wilderness and the palouse you love so much, God willing.

Agréable publication valorisant bien le sujet dans son environnement par l'appréciation de la finesse des détails et de la délicatesse des couleurs.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

The pieces of fallen wood are framing well the bird. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the pheasant. The luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

beautiful scenery with the bird in good colours and pleasant contrast to the dead wood and dried grass.
I like its tip toeing movement towards the other end.
