Danewort (Sambucus ebulus), also known as Dane Weed, Danesblood, Dwarf Elder or European Dwarf Elder and Walewort is a herbaceous species of elder, native to southern and central Europe and southwest Asia. It grows to 1-2 m tall, with erect, usually unbranched stems growing in large groups from an extensive perennial underground rhizome. The leaves are opposite, pinnate, 15-30 cm long, with 5-9 leaflets with a foetid smell. The stems terminate in a corymb 10-15 cm diameter with numerous white (occasionally pink) flowers. The fruit is a small glossy black berry 5-6 mm diameter. The ripe fruit give out a purple juice.
The name Danewort comes from the belief that it only grows on the sites of battles that involved the Danes. The term 'Walewort' or 'Walwort' meant 'foreigner plant.' The plant's stems and leaves turn red in autumn and this may explain the link with blood. The word Dane may link to an old term for diarrhoea.

Hi Ferran,
A nice capture of these beautiful fruits. Very well composed with good details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

hello Ferran
beautiful coloured picture with good details and great sharpness
greeting lou

Gran nitidesa
Sempre he pensat que era verinosa però no ho sé.

Aquesta tarde he passat per Flix.

Salut Ferran.

Hello Ferran,
a lovely view of the clusters. Very beautifully composed in good sharpness. The shines and the sharpness render this shot as a pleasant one.
It looks so delicious like grapes.

Bonjour Ferran,

Dear Ferran
Sorry for neglecting your portfolio. Was moving house and had to attend to 170 boxes. At the new location my Internet Connection keeps disappearing...

Thank you for showing on TrekNature this well known medicinal plant, Sambucus ebulus .

The perfect focus and colours render your photo into a 3D image!

Have a nice evening
amor i una abraçada

Hellow Ferran,
A nice two layered image created by the short DOF.Good contrast with the OOF BG.
