A fine macro-scene indeed within a carefully prepared, eye pleasing composition Ulla, you've managed the exposure very well here, it is not easy to get it right while photographing light and dark subjects close together. An excellent job, my friend!

this fungus species really similar to oysters. they nicely formed a cluster on old wooden piece. you greatly captured them with excellent focus and white balance. coloration and light using superb. POV and DOF great and so blurry greenish BG nicely contrasted to their light colors. goog information as always. many thanks to share. have a good night and have a nice weekend

A superb shot again with your G9, Ulla. While looking for this particular camera in Delhi at the two most leading stores, I was told that this edition of Canon was long gone and I had the choice of only the latest models. That is why I went for Powershot SX120 and I'm not sure if I can get pictures like this one with it.
Once again, I repeat my assertion that it is not necessary to use a DSLR to obtain a great picture like the one you have posted today.

I don't know how and why I missed this superb post about a species which doesn't live in Hungary (just checked out the local literature, it was never detected here). Excellent details on the gills, perfect DoF, beautiful contrast, great diagonal composition. Bravo Madame! Pleasant job.
