Taken by hand in manual mode...although I did rest my body against my car while standing outside n the cold fall air. Looking across a field of barren Aspen into the horizon...we see Vulcan Mountain. This is the only mountain which separates my wilderness from Canada...

On top of this mountain there is a Eastern Orthodox Monastery which is only accessible by heavy 4 wheel drive vehicles. It's like read a Greg Mortenson book such as Three Cups of Tea..that's the kind of harrowing road one has to travel with one if almost no lanes of gravel and in some areas looking almost straight down 300 feet. Quite the adventure...

Vulcan Mountain is a mountain summit in Ferry County in the state of Washington (WA). Vulcan Mountain climbs to 5,256 feet (1,602.03 meters) above sea level. Vulcan Mountain is located at latitude - longitude coordinates (also called lat - long coordinates or GPS coordinates) of N 48.989341 and W -118.648922.

Hi Bob,an "old" pic from a cold winter...cold like the colors of this composition, very good sharpness and point of view...thanks for share and have a nice Sunday,Luciano

Hi Bob,

The distance between the field and the mountain is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the mountain. The goo luminosity is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Beautiful landscape with a shapely, wooded and snow-covered mountain looming on the horizon, Bob. I would love to walk to its summit up those gentle slopes.
Hope you are doing well with your physio-therapy.
Regards,
Ram

Hello Robert,
veey attractive landscape. The blue environment feels so calm and peaceful. You have shown in its great view of trees in the foreground and the snow on the mountains. so lively and so seren.
Well composed shot.

A fine study in blues Bob, which conveys a feeling of cutting cold but also encloses a majestic mountain with a fitting name. Would love to see that monastery, hope you have an image in your bottomless archive my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet

The january light adds to the feeling of cold in this image, apart from the snow on Vulcan Mt.
Nice bare tree snowless FG to set it off in a pleasing composition.
I hope health improves Bob and enables you to leave the wheelchair soon.
Thanks and have a good Sunday,
Ivan

Hi Bob,
Nice to see such wonders coming back to TN through your great contribution; and a great note mentioning that this separates Canadian from US wilderness on this front :) Great landscape with excellent DOF & details of your side of wilderness. TFS

Hi Bob,
Wonderful scene captured superbly, if you were to see the Cypress Hills you would see many similarities to this image. Great work as always my friend.
