Hello friends in TE.

These white mushroom were spotted around my grandparents place. They look beautiful in white and soft around the dead wood.

I'm not sure if this mushroom is edible.

Before assuming that any wild mushroom is edible, it should be identified. Proper identification of a species is the only safe way to ensure edibility. Some mushrooms that are edible for most people can cause allergic reactions in some individuals, and old or improperly stored specimens can cause food poisoning. Deadly poisonous mushrooms that are frequently confused with edible mushrooms and responsible for many fatal poisonings are several species of the Amanita genus, in particular, Amanita phalloides, the death cap.

EDIT: Lou (euroblinkie) suggested it might be Pleurotus

Pleurotus is a genus of gilled mushrooms which includes one of the most widely eaten mushrooms, the oyster mushroom.

Like all other basidiomycetes, it is distinguished by having clamp connections along its hyphal length.

Thanks for viewing!

Hello Jusni,

yes they are beautiful.
Good low pov and sharpness with nice blurred bg.
Fine colours.
A pity a little overexposed (first and last fungi)

Hello Jusni,
A good title for a fine capture of these white fungi. The POV is just right to see them from different aspects and they contrast well with the natural BG in a fine composition.
Thanks and kind regards,

Salam Jusni,
excellent view of these mushrooms. The gills are well seen and its arrangement is pretty.
Nice lighting that beautify the scene.
The level of the sawn tree trunk gives a good horizon.

Lovely shot with fine detail and perfect point of view Jusni! Great white balance and composition. Reading the comments made by friend Gert, I am accepting his view but in the same time I know, to record well highlights and in the same time to preserve the dark and middle tones require complicated Photoshop work. Lets, keep it simple like in this case! Bravo I love that capture indeed Jusni!

Hello Jusni,
Interesting and unusual fungi-picture. I like the idea to cut in half the picture and to have so different backgrounds. A beautiful species which needs to find a name..
Not an easy shot to do, you did well.
Kind regards

Hola Jusni

Hello Jusni,
WHat a lovely bunch of beautiful fungi captured from a low angle. Excellent depth and sharpness and I love the composition!
Many thanks and best regards, Ulla

Hi Jusni,
Possibly a Pleurotus, but Lentinus and Panus generas aren't out of question either. I don't see vast overexposion (maybe a very little), although my eyes are quite sensitive for it. :) Great composition and DoF, nice lights / colors - a pity the closest cap is a bit out of focus. Quite a valuable post otherwise. Tfs.
Friendly regards, László
