hello friends, this is the same
red squirrel running (chasing)
after the same grey squirrel
of my previous photo

shot will my very small Nikon Coolpix
point & shoot camera, with that camera
i can not choose the shutter speed and
the aperture, i put the camera in
SPORTS mode and it is the camera
choosed that 1/40s shutter speed

doing a search on the Red Squirrel
i have found a very interesting link

from Yukon Government website

i will put a little text and invite you
to click on he link above to read more

« Perched on a limb, tail aloft,
a red squirrel chews seeds from a
spruce cone. Alerted by voices,
it "chucks" out a challenge,
then scolds when footsteps move closer.
The most widespread of North American squirrels,
this bold tree dweller is the best-known
mammal of Yukon forests. It is also known
locally as the tree squirrel.

The red squirrel's generic name,
Tamiasciurus, means "the steward
who sits in the shadow of his tail".

When temperatures plunge to -40 degrees C,
red squirrels increase their metabolic
rate by three to four times to burn enough
energy to stay warm. But they are also about one-fortieth as active as they are in summer,
thus conserving precious energy reserves
over the long term. »

Merci

Asbed

Hi Neighbor,

My owl has an eye on your red squirrel! Maybe that's what he was hooting about. The sense of motion is marvelous and the squirrel is easily recognized, I'm enjoying your squirrel chase series very much.

Jane

Hello Asbed,

Hello Asbed,
There is certainly a feeling of speed in this image and yet you managed to follow the running red squirrel to take this shot so that he is well seen against the resulting 'speedy' BG. It is is one of the best shots showing speed that I have seen!
Thanks and have a good Sunday,
Ivan

PS I got your e-mail after I had already confirmed that you were right about Anne's Woodcock.

Another great capture with the panning technic Asbed. Realy superb work with the dynamic BG.
TFS and have a nice night/warm sunday!

Hello Asbed,
I like the blurring effect. It must be a real difficult task, as i would imagine...the squirrel is gone before I click the shutter.
Well done.

Foozi

Bonjour Asbed,
Avec une autre camera et une vitesse beaucoup plus élevée le résultat aurait été super car le filé est bien exécuté
Bon dimanche
Albert

As close as you are I am surprised you have the form down well. Slight panning technique always works for you.
Bob

Hello Asbed,
This is certainly a different way of portraying a Squirrel and very much your own style. It certainly conveys great speed and I like the timing on the movement of the Squirrel. Thjey're cute and fun to watch!
