Ok where's the gnome it is traditional for one to be either sat on top or underneath thie partular fungus, which by the way is superb, spot on exposure of stem and cap. nice one

non sans plesanter j'ai pas vu ce champignons depuis ma classe de decouvert en maternelle !
Je vois que ce champignon n'a pas perdu de sa beauté.
ta photo est vraiment superbe ! les couleur ( principalement rouge et blanc ) sont d'une intensité a la hauteur de se champignon, la nettete est bonne nottament sur la base du pied !
Comme tu le souligne le plus beau champignon de nos foret est aussi un des plus toxique$.

Yes a fairies toadstool indeed as Paul said. I've seen lot's in storybooks. Reluctantly none in real life. Great capture Christian. Very detailed phot and note. TFS.

Taz, They should call this one "The Christmas Mushroom" because it sure looks like a Christmas ornament to me! I will say it again - the diversity of these things never ceases to amaze me! You've done an excellent job of capturing it in all its glory. Well done - AGAIN!!
