Greenland Tundra Landscape
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A small glacial lake situated in the Arctic tundra of west Greenland. Most ridges here run east-west as a result of the retreating glacier which, although not seen in this photo, is located only a few kilometers west of this site. Caribou (i.e. reindeer) and muskoxen are the only two large herbivores in this region. The tundra is dominated by dwarf birch and willow shrubs. Numerous graminoids (grasses, sedges, and rushes) and forbs fill out the rest of the landscape. |

Jeff, that an incredible view there. I appreciate you bringing this to us. Your shot is very nice, with a mix of lights and darks.
Thanks and Happy New Year,
Paul

Gorgeous view. The scenery has such a raw beauty. Rather than making me feel small and insignificant (as most landscapes do) it envokes a feeling of welcome and warmth.
Perfect lighting.

Hello Jeff,
This makes me want to look at a really big image as it is so beautiful. One wants to get right into the landscape, it is soinviting. I looked carefully at the composition and I would not be able to imrpove on it. The soft lighting gives it a lot of atmosphere. Your note is useful. Thank you and well done.
