My last vacation was spent at Kuala Gula. It is a river estuary where there birds being protected.
But before going to see and shoot the bird i was surprised to see this weed is so beautiful. It grows along the roadside.
To me it is such an lovely and pretty ones. Since it is a weed here, I don't think people give a lot of attention to it.
i wish I could take it and plant at my house. But cant take it as I'm going elsewhere.
A little bit about Kuala Gula. We put a night at the chalet there and enjoye a boat ride around the mangrove forest to see the flora and fauna.

Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary

The Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary is located in the district of Kerian in the state of Perak Darul Ridzuan. The sanctuary has been established since 1970 by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) and the state government of Perak. The main objective of creating the sanctuary is to protect migratory and resident bird species, which have been using the wetland area for many years. The migratory birds utilise the large mudflat area for feeding and resting during their migratory route from the northern to the southern hemisphere. Tens of thousands of migratory birds comprising 48 species of 8 families visit Kuala Gula from September until April each year. Some of these migratory birds come from as far as Siberia in Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Japan and China. The Kuala Gula mangrove swamp forest and mudflat are not only important for migratory birds but also for 600 families of fishermen who depend totally on the mangrove forests and marine ecosystem for their livelihood. Many fishermen involved in fishing, cockle farming, aquaculture, shrimp and crabs derive their income from this wetland area. Currently, eco-tourism activities are getting popular in Kuala Gula. Approximately 5,000 visitors came to Kuala Gula last year. The fishermen living in the vicinity of Kuala Gula for the last hundred years have survived within the natural ecosystem of this mangrove swamp forest. The dependence of man on this natural ecosystem will continue for generations to come.

Salaam Yaa Foozi,

Here we are in mid winter, here I look at the weather watch that shows inside 26 and out 9.5 C but drops to -10C in open and here to .0C but I look at your shots these are quite fresh and green.

Hello Foozi,
I believe a weed is defined as being a wild unwanted plant.
This may be wild, but is certainly beautiful and because of that desirable!
A fine sharp vapture of two of its flowers with excellent natural colours and contrasting BG.
Kuala Gula must be a fine place to visit!
Thanks and kind regards,

Beautiful and colorful flowers, well captured.
This looks like Asystasia gangetica that we find here, commonly called Ganges primrose or Chinese voilet, this one belongs to Acanthaceae family, checkout. tfs.

Purple Weed is what a beautiful flower with purple and yellow colors. your macro shot is wonderful with sharpness of focus, exposure and light using. POV/DOF and composition also great as like splendid coloration. green BG also superb and nicely contrasting flower's purple color. thanks for sharing this beauty
friendly regards wassalam

Hi Foozi,

The flowers are well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the flowers of the weed. The blurry background is putting in evidence the flowers. The afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.
