Could not resist uploading this to see how it compares with an earlier posting "Branches and Bark" of this quiver tree. It being a tree aloe, I am now fairly convinced that it is A. dichotoma. Quiver trees are endemic to the Nothern Cape Province of South Africa and southern Namibia where they are well adapted to the arid environment. The branches are soft inside and were hollowed out by the San, who were bow hunters, to use as quivers for their arrows, hence the name.

Hello Neels,

an nice shot from this piece of tree with great sharpness and details.
I dont know this specie.
Fine colors.

'N pragtige foto om die takke van die kokerboom se mooi en kleurvolle bas te wys. 'n Rare boom en wanneer die hele boom afgeneem word, word dit ook die sentrale fokus van enige landskap.
Goeie een Neels

Hallo Neels
I really like this image very much. The colours and detail are sharp, the presentation a delight to look at and the background complimentary to the subject. This is very eye-catching and has an artistic flair to it. I like the angle in which you captured it, making one look up into the sky. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hello Neels,
this is a lovely tree and you have composed it so nicely to give an abstract view. The well defined bark also render a special view.
Very special and strange plant to me.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Neels,
Thats a real fascinating tree. It look like someone painted designs on it. Nice and sharp image. Well done.

Hello Neels,
What a strange and fascinating tree ! Lovely capture with a nice
sharpness showing so many good details.Well done my friend!
Nice week to you!

Good evening Neels,
to be honest I prefer those previous shots of this incredible and photogenic plant! Somehow the composition here is not so appealing but still lovely despite the entry of the brick work into the frame! As usually superb colors and detail! Bravo!

Hello Neels,
What a nicely composd image with beautiful coloration and excellent detail. The bark of this tree is exceptionally attractive and the leaf-like sprouts reminds me somewhat of a pineapple. Well done!!

Hello Neels,
Amazing patterns & very well composed shot.

Hi Neels!
Thanks for your kind critique on my recent picture.
You have a discerning eye for interesting natural formations, as I can make out after having a quick glance at your brief portfolio. Another TN friend Markus too has this special talent.
I see a lovely artistic composition on the bark of this tree endemic to your country.
Well done and thanks for sharing the picture.

Looks like an abstract painting. TFS
