Ornithogalum chionophilum (ASPARAGACEAE)

A bulbous perennial herb with 2-5 basal, linear leaves up to 30 cm long. The flowers form crowded, compact inflorescence; the perianth-segments are white internally with a broad, green stripe externally. It is an endemic species, distributed along the Troodos range, between 700 to 1950 m. It flowers from March to June depending on the weather conditions.
The photo shows the inflorescence at an early stage of flowering.

Hello Pambos,
A very beuatiful endemic flower again wich forms a lovely ring of white flowerheads. Best mangement of light, like usual. It seems that these flowers like rocky environments. Interesting composition too.
Kind regards
