Dinocras ferreri (Pictet, 1841) larva – Perlidae

Indicatore di acque pulite e quelle del Nera lo sono, una ghiottoneria per i pesci, freesco di stagione, penso sia una novità per TN

Hello Silvio,
An impressive macro of this interesting species showing great sharpness and natural colours. Very well composed too.
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Hi Silvio,
I believe that is a Stone fly nymph. They spend most of their lives in the water and then crawl onto rocks split their shells and then fly away as adults. I tie fly fishing patterns to replicate these to catch trout in rivers. Its lovely in its natural habitat. Well done, I don't think I have seen one of these before on this site.
Denis.
