Hello
The Pileated Woodpecker is a spectacular crow-sized bird with a flaming red crest. The female has blackish forehead and lacks the red on the mustache.The great size, sweeping wingbeats and flashing white underwing areas make it easy to identify in flight. The large and oval diggings indicate its presence. Measures 40-49 cm.

Le Grand Pic est un oiseau spectaculaire de la taille d'une corneille. Il arbore une huppe rouge vif. La femelle a le front noirâtre et n'a pas de rouge à la moustache. La grande taille et les battements profonds des ailes, découvrant du blanc dessous, le rendent facile à identifier au vol.Les grands trous ovales creussés dans les arbres témoignent de sa présence. Il mesure de 40 à 49 cm.

Fantastic bird shot with excellent colors, sharpness and timing. Beautiful photo, and it's always good to see new faces on the site with such talent for photography as yours. The photo itself is top class - but in the whole image I personally find the canvas a bit too thick. Nothing really serious, but something to be alert of, by my opinion.
