Evax pygmaea (L.) Brot.

Synonims: Filago pygmaea L., Evax umbellata Gaertner, Micropus
pygmaeus
(L.) Desf

Stem 2-4(-5) cm; lateral branches short, ascending. Caulineleaves 7-10 x 3 mm; rosette leaves 10-15 x2-5 mm, 2-3 x as long as cluster of capitula, oblong obovate, rounded, obtuse or shortly acute at apex, spreading, ± rigid, whitish tomentose. Clusters of capitula 5-13 mm broad, very compact, subglabrous. Paleae 4-4.3 x 1.5-1.8 mm, lanceolate-obovate to obovate, straight on back, glabrous, brownish-yellow, cuspidate, with c. 1 mm arista. Flowers 1.8-1.9 mm. Achenes c. 1 mm, obovoid, dark brown, papillose.

Flowering: 4-6.

Habitat: Maritime sands, dry slopes, roadsides,

Altitude: Sea level-200 m.
