[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I got several shots of these beautiful birds on this day. You will see more in the coming months I think. This one has his beak tucked into his wing feathers. All of you here at TN know a lot more about what every animal and species are, all I really know is, that I love to take pictures of them. I shoot RAW, so some Photoshop time is necessary, but a little brightening and sharpening is all that was done here.
Kathleen.

Nice shot! You've captured this male Mandarin Duck well, without doubt they're a beautiful subject. A couple of things though, firstly I think the image is slightly dark in the midtones - try using Curves to pull out a bit more detail there. Also the white areas seem a little bright (and a bit blue), maybe try a RAW convert with slightly less exposure? Use a blended exposure technique from Luminous-Landscape.com perhaps? Also I'm not convinced there isn't a bit of camera shake going on - the edges seem to have a slight double appearance, it's almost like the camera rotated slightly when you hit the shutter release. Anyway, despite my comments I like it - it's a good capture :-D

Hi Kathleen,
this is so lovely.
She hasn't recognised you and is sleeping so nice. IMO it could be a little bit brighter, I tried a workshop for you and hope, you like it.
Thanks for sharing and bye

Hi Kathleen, I am glad you found this site and I am proud to have helped. I think you will be like a fish in water here. I gound I didn't have the necessary knowledge of the objects I was photographing, so I continue to dedicate myself to TE and TL. But there are lovely images here, such as this one. Fantastic natural colors and very soft, you certainly didn't oversharpen as a lot of us do.

Es una excelente foto con unos colores increíbles...el fondo fuera de foco realza la belleza del plumaje....Gracias
