Hey Alan,
This is stunning. I really like the composition. The desaturation of the background really does make this a magnificent shot. Well done

Hey Alan,
This is great! How did you do this? Did you use the lassotool or did you use layers? Tell me please, I love this kinda of art and I am trying to do this myself for ages. The picture itself is also stunning; sharp details, great colors and very well composed. Good POV and DOF also. Well done my friend! Well done & TFS!

Pieter

Great sharpness, colors and pov.
These birds (I've never seen one of them) are very beautiful, and you did a great job.

very artistic shot Alan, L like the black and white BG and the effect that made with the pink of the bird. Very sharp to, Well done
Amazing PP work, Alan! How do you desaturate the background, do you use the loop tool around the middle flamingos? I think your PP work made the shot much more interesting. Good crop too. TFS!

Alli

Very clever Alan. Your experiment has worked out well. I love it and it is 100% better than mine as I can't do anything like this at all. Good composition and the colours perfect (for the orange ones!) The original is good too. Well done, and TFS.

Very nice picture, Alan.
Well composed and good details.
You did a goof PP for this.
Well done.
Hi Alan. What a stunning photo. I really like the effect of the desaturated BG. All I can think of is... how long did it take you to select the two colored flamingoes? The two colorful flamingoes are very well captured, with sharp details and beautiful light. I absolutely love the pose of the two flamingoes in front, especially the one on the left. Congratulations for a flawless masterpiece. TFS. : )

I love this idea!
You've changed very busy photo in something very clear, but also arty and beautiful. The cropping also helps a lot to get this.
The photo has great visual impact and it was, no doubt, worth these 20 min ;)
I like it very much.
Have a great weekend!

Excellent work Alan. Your picture shows us how to turn common picture into exceptional picture. Ashen BG and two perfectly composed red birds on FG - it works superb! I like it very, very much!

I really like this one. The pink (or whatever you want to call it) goes very well with the monochrome. I prefer this to the original, because, like you say, it was a bit busy. Very sharp and contrasty. Still think the off-centre frame looks like a mistake, though!

"What do you think.....honestly?"
Alan, I think that TrekLens is a better place to post this experiment. I know the time it takes in PP to achieve it but... it is not very 'natural'. I know my long exposition shots are not very 'natural' too but I did not spent my time in PP. The result are from the camera, not from Photoshop.
I apreciate your skills of photographer. I do not want to hurt you but I think what I think and I wrote it. I give you the 2 points to compensate for the photos which deserve more than 2 small ones.
Have a wonderfull week!

It's called color masking and I like it a lot. This really works well with the cluttered birds and brings out the two birds nicely. Nicely done, alan.
