[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) found in Europe, Asia and Africa, often characterised by hovering when hunting.

This particular one is a captive male photographed in the New Forest on one of our bird of prey experience days, although he was born in the wild, injured himself and was brought in as a rescue bird. After he had been treated and allowed to heal he was released again in to the wild, and immediately returned to the Centre where he began to steal food from the other resident birds. Released again further away he once again found his way back where upon a request was made to the authorities to ring him and keep him as captive for his own safety. This request was granted and he is now part of the Centre's flying team.

Nice picture

Excellent composition of the subject. The sharpness and detail shown are wonderful. The lighting, clour, DOF, BG and catch light in the eye are all very well done.
