The Hungarian Sea - Comeback After Vacation

Came back from our 10-day vacation from the lakeside of Balaton. We have very warm and dry weather, so very few fungi images were done, I was rather into landscapes and botanical shots beside the usual family snaps. I hope you'll like this landscape about the northern shore of the lake (a part, of course), even if it isn't anything special, just another panoramic image - but I like it.

As you most probably know, my home country, Hungary doesn't have seaside at all. But we have Lake Balaton, the biggest lake of Central Europe with maximal length of 77 kilometers (max. width 14 km) and a surface area of 592 square kilometers. Please see everything else about the lake on the link above (in English).

Photo: done from the Tihanyi peninsula, not far from Tihany village, early in the morning. PP: stitching and enhancing with Panorama Studio; crop, frame and sharpening with Ulead Photoimpact. Large version is available also.

Thanx for your comments.

Hi Laszlo,

Nice panoramic photo. Good idea. Nice colours and composition.
I expect many interesting photo of fungi.
Thanks for sharing,

Ciao Laszlo, my today neighbour, great view of fantastic lake, wonderful natural colors and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
PS a eat here good fish more than 20 years ago:)

Hi Laszlo,
A nicely composed shot of this lake.

Very good POV and DOF.
Excellent sharpness and focus.

It is a beautiful view of the northern side of this magnificent lake with the lovely name Balaton, friend laszlo!I hope that you have enjoyed your holiday there! When I was a boy and I was a mad angler as a hobby and I remember how I we have a dream with some friends to visit Balaton for a fishing trip which has never materialized unfortunately! So ..clearly this image is taking me back in the past with so much warm memories of unfulfilled dreams. Those days traveling to a foreign country despite the relatively short distances was an impossible exercise. 20 years later, lake Balaton remains a desired destination for me ... well maybe one day! Beautiful shot Laszlo, the large version is giving us a better detail and perspective of the great Balaton Lake!

Hi Laszlo,
Beautiful picture of what my step father told us about! He was also Hungarian (Thomash Kovatch), hope I spelled it right. He raised me since I was 10 years old. Great colours of a landscape that was once a turmoil due to the war. He swam this lake in his younger days. Like to hear from you again.

Hi Laszlo.
I like the pictured landscape so much. Place is really wonderful as well as point of view. Composition of the whole picture and lovely colours. I have not any such picture but hope that I will decide to use such technique in the future. Warm regards and TFS.
