Blister beetles. Lytta aenea.
This iridescent black beetle that uses blistering chemical defenses. I found it lurking around some flora yesterday on my daily relaxing wheelchair ride through the gardens which surround me.

Janice ID'ed it for me on Facebook
Please enjoy!

A new one on me Bob.
Nicely presented with well managed sharp contrast between the tagetes flower and the black blister beetle. Not only is this species new to me but I have now learnt that blister beetles are to be found in the USA!
Thanks for this addition to an old brain,

Thank you for the nice dedication Bob. The black Blister Beetle is a great contrast to the bright yellow flower. Your macro shows off the delicate body of this little beauty. Blister Beetles are also found in Canada. Have a great day!
TFS Janice

Hallo Bob,
a beautiful macro shot, very good sharpness and great contrast of colours between the sunny flower and the metallic insect, very nice composition
Best regards

Nice macro shot, good sharpness and depth of field control

Hi Bob,

The flower is helping to frame the insect. The close-up point of view is showing the details and colors of the Blister beetle. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Bob,
Great to see you posting again. A nice presentation of this little Blister Beetle. I would imagine we have them here in Ohio, although I can't say for sure that I have ever seen one.
