A superbly sharp and naturally coloured capture of this robberfly with its insect prey. The composition and clean BG add to the quality of this image. Robberflies are a specialist subject that very few even in Europe master, so that the ID problem must be very difficult to resolve in the tropics, which is a pity, as this image deserves a specific name.

Amazing! I had marked this as one of my favourites, but apparently did not comment on it, which is an unfortunate oversight, as it is such a phenomenal image. It is excellent in so many ways...Tack sharp focus, pleasing, out-of-focus background, soft lighting, beautifully saturated colours, a superb composition of a very attractive subject WITH PREY, no less.
