[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
this is the photograph of Kailash Peak in the Himalayan Range... as viewed from Kalpa, a heavenly beautiful village in the virgin district of Kannaur, in Himachal Pradesh.
actually, i took this photograph from the window of my cottage room during our stay in Kalpa. the silhouettes of trees that you get to see here, are of the apple trees in the garden of our resort.
it was the month of October, means, Autumn. look at the floating clouds... the days were sunny & sky, clear and bright blue.
it takes days to reach Kalpa. and still, Kalpa is not always the final destination of this route. Kalpa is merely a stay on the way... towards the last village of India, Chhitkul.
if Kalpa is such a beauty, can you imagine what can Chhitkul be? :)
here i would like to add something. according to Hindu mythology, Kailash peak is the home of Lord Shiva. that means, this is a part of a place where God lives. yes, this is literally, heaven. |

Hi Ruby,
really nice photo of these mountains. Beautiful place.
Thanks for sharing,

Mountains in autumn look different, especially with the deep blue sky behind them, Ruby. This is a brilliant shot.
I have trekked in Sangla Valley, so I can appreciate what you say in your note.
