[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It has been a while since I posted my last photo from my photography trip to the Lofoten. A trip that showed me the beauty of these islands and the many photo opportunities they bring.

This photo of Hov mountain was taken on an early morning while on one of my last scouting trips across the islands. The day before I experienced rain and snow but this day brought some relief in the weather. Although the cloud cover was still thick and the forecast wasn't bringing any relief.

I stopped at a spot I visited previously to see if I could make some photo with incoming waves on a pristine white beach. The tide was low and there weren't that many waves to make anything worthwhile to keep. So I decided to move a little further and find a spot to capture Hov mountain positioned in between Vestvågøy and Austvågøy. There were just enough gaps in the could cover to bring in some light, but I would've liked a few strong shafts of sunlight on the mountain tops. Hey, you cannot control the light and sometimes you have to move on instead of waiting for the light.

A few technical details: tripod, 0.6 grad ND filter, cable release, hotshoe spirit level

beautiful capture Niek, subtle and simple! The water edge in the horizon, placed in approximately 1/3 of the frame brings balance in this composition. Lovely colors and depth ...bravo! A classical execution!

Hello Niek,
Nice to see a picture from you again! Lovely shades of blue for this classical and simple landscape picture. Love the cloudy sky with patches of blue. Very peaceful area which I would like to visit too.
Kind regards

Beautiful perspective, nice light and water reflections, amazing scenery.
