Butéo Butéo

Buteo (Etymology: Buteo is the Latin name of the Common Buzzard) is a genus of medium to fairly large, wide-ranging raptors with a robust body and broad wings. In the Old World, members of this genus are called "buzzards", but "hawk" is used in North America. As both terms are ambiguous, buteo is sometimes used instead, for example, by the Peregrine Fund

Hi John,
not Milvus milvus (compare with your previous photo, it's very much different), but a buzzard (Buteo buteo).

Hello john
Excellent photo with fine details, i like the light thru the feathers

Hi John,

A nice freeze of a raptor with detailed underwing details. I wish there was some catchlight but it depend much on the birds flightplan. Ardennes seems to be good place to sight raptors.
