Right ...a White Tiger, as you rightly guested we do not have those creatures around our bush velds in Southern Africa except when they escape from their inclosures. Two years ago a tiger called Panjo, escaped on the trip between Johannesburg, its home, and Springs, where it was being taken to a vet clinic for a check-up. Panjo the tiger was tracked near Bronkhorstpruit . Earlier on Wednesday 28th 2010, animal tracker Mark Tennant found fresh paw prints in the soil near Verena. According to trafficologist Aki Blood hound from Kruger arrived to trace Panjo smell.Chopper with thermal detector also assisting . All the Mpumalanga residents can have a good night sleep knowing that the tiger was found. Found about 100km from where he jumped bakkie. Panjo seemed calm, Goosey relieved.

The image of this white tiger has been taken in Pretoria Zoo, and since I haven't seen any images of that species in Treknature's library I have decided to post my photograph.
The white tiger is a recessive mutant of the Bengal tiger, which was reported in the wild from time to time in Assam, Bengal, Bihar and especially from the former State of Rewa.Compared to normal colored tigers without the white gene, white tigers tend to be somewhat bigger than original tigers, both at birth and as fully grown big adults.Currently, several hundred white tigers are in captivity worldwide, with about one hundred being found in India. Nevertheless, their population is on the increase. :)

Hello George,
Even if this picture has been taken in a Zoo, it looks very natural. Love the way you have photographed the Tiger from behind, with its vivid eye perfectly visible, a kind of attraction-point of your shot. Well composed as usual. A picture which will be successful on internet, I'm sure..
Kind regards
