[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this a while ago while on a walk through native New Zealand bush. I found these fungi, sorry i couldn't find an ID, Growing on the trunk of a tree.

I like how they formed fungi stairs. I also liked the textures. Sorry I have burnt out a little of the top fungi but I wanted to leave the photgraph as natural as posibble.

I used pohotoshop to crop slightly, frame and resize.

Hi Sue, it is interesting to see the fungi walking up the tree. They have quite frilly skirts too. Well found, good job!

Witaj Sue. Świetne zdjęcie (uwielbiam zdjęcia grzybów).
Dobra kompozycja i ładne światło.
Robert.

Very nice shot Sue. Great color, light, DOF & textures, Thank You!

Hi Sue,
good macro! Colors and contrast nice. Excelent composition. Note very good too.
Congratulations,
Wagner.

Hi Sue,
Unfortunately You aren't so active now as in the past, but I hope You'll read my comments somehow. Beautiful natural colors of the colony, although this time, due to You photographed a bunch, not one fruitbody alone, a centered composition would have been a better choice. Otherwise a good shot with excellent sharpness and as mentioned, colors.
About ID specification I can't be sure, but Your fungi seem like young Pluteus umbrosus or something else very similar.
Tfs, wish You & Your loved ones a very happy 2010. Best regards from Hungary, László
