Euchloe crameri, of the Pieridae family. You can find it in Spain, Portugal, France and North Africa and in some Mediterranean countries. They like open, dry and sunny areas. Altitude from 100 to 1,500 meters. The wingspan is 40–48 mm. The butterfly flies from February to August depending on the location. It has two generations. Spawning takes place one on one in the flowers of the food plant. The caterpillar is yellow with black spots and lines of bluish gray and white. Practiced cannibalism. The larvae feed on Brassicaceae species. The pupa is shaped spine and is green with a violet hue. Overwinters as pupa, attached to the food plant or nearby. Saludos.

Hi Jose, the quality isn't the best but this is a great great gift to the butterflies fans like me! A very very rare specie, what a lucky meeting,a good shot in a difficult light.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Wow this is a really pretty butterfly. The patterns and the green colour are spectacular. Well captured and thanks for sharing this beautiful capture with us!

Hi Jose,
nice photo of this butterfly. Unusual colours. Very good presentation.
Have a nice day,
Maciek

Jose,

The photo has a lot of noise and DOF is rather narrow range. Perhaps increasing the F stop would increase the DOF and result in less noise. POV is good and I have never seen this butterfly previously. Enjoyed the presentation. Thank you.

Mike
