[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ophioglossum polyphyllum is a tiny desert fern. In Israel it is endangered, known from only 2 site. It grows in extreme desert and sprouts only in rainy years. We were lucky this year to see it for a month or so. Here u can see the spore stalk just after dispercal.

Hello Ori
Interesting desert species. I found Ophioglossum lusitanicum earlier, only 1-2 cm high.
Fine photo, nice colours, good point of view
regards yiannis

Hi Ori, super interesting species, in my country the species of Ophioglossum grow in mountain meadows with high humidity. Salut

Hallo Ori
Now this is something very spectacular! I just love the sight of it, and you surely were very lucky to have seen it. The details are very eye-catching and unique, the colour really pretty. Thanks for sharing a super macro and one that emphasize the words that is so particular to this site "Learning about nature through photography" as up to today I never even knew of the existence of this beautiful desert fern. Best regards.
Anna
