is no a thistle. is from carrot family (Umbeliferae) more exactly Eryngium maritimum.


This is a plant that I like very much. I is so beautiful! It is rare in Sweden, but I have seen a few of them at the west coast. In Brittany (Bretagne) they are common. It is very special, with its blue-green colours. Thanks for sharing this lovely picture and for telling me the name in English! Its latin name is Eryngium maritimum (martorn in Swedisn).
