Specimen of Lithops (commonly known as living stones). Unfortunately I do not know the exact species (if the experts can clarify, they are welcome).
The lithops are fascinating plants that look like rocks, among which they grow, increasing the difficulty to distinguish.
They are adapted to extremely arid areas and grow very slowly. There are about fifty species, all living in a relatively small area of distribution in South Africa, in the south-eastern Namibia and southern Botswana.
The flowers grow in summer in the cracks between the leaves.
