[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

I just finished a fungal observation project in the park "Népkert" in the downtown of Miskolc. It has an area of 56921 m˛, and exists from the 1870's. During my 5 years of observations I detected 126 macrofungi species in the park, from which one, Lyophyllum paelochroum Clémençon previously wasn't recorded in Hungary. Anyone interested in more, please click to this album to see almost 400 of my fungi photos made in the park, during the project.

This photo, although technically not so brilliant, is one of my favorites from the many hundreds I've done in Népkert park, because this was the first occasion I met the boletoid species Xerocomus bubalinus (Oolbekkink & Duin) Redeuilh, which is extremely variable in cap color, from ochraceous buff to pale reddish brown, sometimes with apricot tint. Only a few literature records in Hungary, due to possible confusion with related species. First attempt of the species in TrekNature.

Workshop photo shows the smaller specimen. You can see its reddish flesh in the stem base, but without red granules - the closely related species like Xerocomus rubellus or Xerocomus communis have red or orange dots in the flesh of stipe basis.

Thanx for stopping by and commenting.

Hello MF Laszlo
such a big fungi and exciting big cap. You showed it nicely with the textures seen in good lighting.
The smaller one helps to understand more of the features,
Nice composition.

Hello Laszlo,
A great composition of this Fungi. Aspects such as clarity, colors, positioning, darker BG, low POV and framing are what makes this a special exposure!! Excellent work my friend and thanks for sharing.
