[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The days are getting warmer here in Jammu with bright and sunny days. Today afternoon, I saw the first butterflies of the season. In the children's park in my school, two Peacock Pansies were sunning themselves on flowers and pebbles by turns. They kept their wings wide open and closed them occasionally. I exhausted my 2GB memory stick in no time, clicking them madly. Here is one resting on the pebbles.

The Peacock Pansy (Junonia almana) is a species of nymphalid butterflies found in South Asia. It exists in two distinct adult forms, which differ chiefly in the patterns on the underside of the wings; the dry-season form has few markings, while the wet-season form has additional eye-spots and lines.

Hope you like it.

Hallo Ram
A super image of a pretty butterfly. The prominent markings and colours on its wings are beautifully seen and the shape of its wings is gorgeous. I like the point of view and composition, add to that some wonderful light that is included in the scene and you have a definite winner. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hello Ram,
I'm glad the weather is getting nicer for you there in Jammu. I believe it will be a few more months before the butterflies start flying around here in Ohio.
You certainly couldn't have asked for a better pose as it spread it's wings wide open for you on this rather sunny day.
I love the rich orangish colors and those large eye spots. The Peacock Pansy is indeed a beautiful butterfly, and you have done a superb job of capturing it's image for all to enjoy viewing. Great work!!

Hello Ram
