[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At long last we have had a couple of days of dry and bright weather enabling me to get out with the camera.

With my wife and one year old grandson in pushchair we went to a local lake for a walk around.

This female swan (penn) was trying to drive away her last years cygnets, ready for this years breeding season.

The Mute Swan is a protected bird in the UK and owned by the Queen, they are supposed to be counted in a ceremony called upping, conducted by the head upper.
The male is called a cob and the female a penn.

I managed to get this shot in gap amongst the trees. This shot is as straight from the camera just converted to jpeg and slight high pass filter to allow for loss of sharpness on uploading to TN.

Thanks for viewing.
