Hello Luciano,
nice and interesting shot of this beautiful butterfly. I have not recognized that you have travelled to Gambia. I think I must first have a look to your gallery. ;-)
Best wishes,
Helmut

Hello Luciano

The shadow of the butterfly, with its pose,
and the warm light, are the beauty of this photo,
with fine POV & DOF, excellent focus, sharpness, details, TFS

Original gem from Gambia, Luciano.
It certainly is the very first here on TN. Congratulations!
The dorsal view at ground level gives a fine display and colours and details on its lovely wings.
Thanks and regards.
Ram

Very strange Luciano the way it almost has an ora around it. Great lighting and you picked up the colours well. I like how you've framed it with it's shadow. The POV shows it off well also. Nice to see for the first time. TFS Trevor

Hello Luciano,
A difficult situation, but captured.
This wing position is not easy to capture, but you show the features of this African PIerid butterfly with good sharpness, DOF and natural colours that show well against the sandy ground.
Thanks and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Hi Luciano,
something seems strange with the pic. Dont know what. But anyway a very nice shot with intense colours and good details.
Have a nice time
Pierre

Ciao Luciano.

Hello Luciano, Congratulations on this first for TN!!
What an awesome looking butterfly with gorgeous colors and very pretty markings. You captured it perfectly with your camera, showing much detail and just the right exposure. The texture of it's wings appears to be very delicate and I like the white fringe on edges of the bottom wings. Great work!!

Bonjour Luciano,
Encore une premičre et encore une fois un papilllon de la famille de Pieridae. Pas facile de bien les photographier dans cette pose. J'aime aussi l'ombre captée, on dirait presqu'un escargot :-)
Bonne fin de semaine

Hello Luciano
nice view and nice colors seen though the wings are not totally spread. Exciting color contrast in abundance light.
Well composed and splendid clarity.

Hi Luciano,

You're capturing well this butterfly a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the Red Tip with special color. It's interesting in hearing this species inhabits Africa as you note. And, the shadow draws out a good effect in this image.

Kind regards,
mikio

Ciao Luciano,
Although you used f/5.0, your depth of field is excellent, just like the colors. Huge congratulations for the proper exposure (and for the TN-debut of this species, too). I might crop the pic differently, I mean a vertical compo with the full shadows of the b-fly would be even more powerful. But everything else is just superb.
Thanks for sharing this interesting species a bit reminding to our (European) Anthocharis cardamines. Best regards, László

Hello Luciano,
Interesting shape of a butterfly and a modest but beautiful coloration.

Lucja
