This photograph was taken when the bird collecting nectar from a flower of Silk cotton tree (Shimul) at Kanha Meadows.
The Jerdon's Leafbird (Chloropsis jerdoni) is a species of leafbird, occurs from northern India to Sri Lanka.This species inhabits open woodland, secondary growth, orchards, wooded gardens, coffee and pepper plantations and road edges, favouring relatively dry areas, from the lowland plains to 1,200 m. Its diet includes arthropods, fruit and nectar. It builds its nest in a tree, and lays 2-3 eggs.
The male is green-bodied with a yellow-tinged head, black face and throat. It has a blue moustachial line. The female differs in that it has a greener head and blue throat, and young birds are like the female but without the blue throat patch. |

Nice composition with the green bird and the red flowers. Very interesting bird. Perhaps it has been cropped too heavily?

Excellent subject and POV but sharpness is missing in the image as well as the image is bit noisy.
