Anderson Short fingered gecko (Stenodactylus petrii )12 cm. Saharan animal, it lives in the sand deserts of Northern Africa and the Sinai and the Northern Negev in Israel.
Israel, being a bridge between Africa, Asia and Europe, has an amazing array of species from all three continents.

Well well, I see my commet dissapered last nite. Anyway here goes again. I love these little guys with their funny & beautiful eyes. One on my wish list. We had them in the Namib, also in the Kalahari. Hope to catch some this December, DV.

Very good macro shot of this elusive creature

Nice reptile and great light too, see my gecko shots too (I have two) they are unusual ...

I must have been away when this one was published. I love geckos and this one is very interesting. Good detail and nice pose. You are ceratinly opening my eyes to the diverse fauna you have in Israel.
