In Jasper it rained most of the time when we were there. On our way to Banff National Park the sky clear and the sun peaks out, the view along Icefields Parkway was incredibly beautiful the whole way. It was hard to pick a spot to stop for photographs, and I didn’t want to stop every few minutes, we do want to get to our destination. When I saw from the car this peaceful part of the river with the reflection, I had to turn around to take a few shots.

The splendor of the Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93) can hardly be overstated: a 230-kilometre road from Lake Louise to Jasper through the heart of the Rockies, it ranks as one of the world's ultimate drives. Its unending succession of huge peaks, immense glaciers, iridescent lakes, wild-flower meadows, wildlife and forests – capped by the stark grandeur of the Columbia Icefield – is absolutely overwhelming. Fur traders and natives who used the route as far back as 1800 reputedly christened it the "Wonder Trail", though in practice they tended to prefer the Pipestone River Valley to the east, a route that avoided the swamps and other hazards of the Bow Valley. Jim Brewster made the first recorded complete trek along the road's future route in 1904. The present highway was only completed in 1939 and opened in 1940 as part of a Depression-era public-works program. Although about a million people a year make the journey to experience what the park blurb calls a "window on the wilderness", for the most part you can go your own way in relative serenity.

Hello Way,
Fantastic landscape taken from a perfect POV and a very beautiful composition. The colours look a bit oversaturated, but I was not there. Maybe it was natural. The contrasts are great.

Bonjour Way,
Un miroir parfait magnifiant dans une belle lumičre un splendide paysage.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Hello, Way, excellent reflection image of a most beautiful place. I noticed you used a Canon 20 D. ?
Excellent pov and composition to show the natural beauty of the lake.
have a great day,

Hi Wayne,

I'm amazed by the beautiful scene you captured - it's brethtaking, it MUST be breathtaking to everyone for a moment. In the second moment someone may unfortunately realize you added too much shadows through the post-procession (not mentioned in your note, unfortunately), probably to offset a slight overexposion. The waterline extends just on the middle of the image, which wasn't a lucky choice either in my opinion, even the reflections are beautiful. I don't like the big white frame either, it adds nothing to the image.

Overall, this is of course a good photo, but in my opinion overprocessed with the light issue. Feel free to agree or disagree, obviously.

Best regards, László
