Family Anatidae (Ducks, Geese, and Swans); Branta canadensis (Canada Goose).

I noticed this family of Canadian Geese while driving into the park as they were swimming in a line in the river. Later in the day, I was walking near an inlet that ran into the river with hopes of seeing them again. Sure enough, they were there and I was able to sneak upon them sufficiently close to get a number of shots. Hope you enjoy. Will post a close-up of three of babies tomorrow. This is my 400th posting ... hope you enjoy.

Hello Mike,
What a cute family portrait you have presented to us. I just saw a few large flocks today at a local park, and boy were they frantically feeding on the lush green grass. They can really become a nuisance at times, as their droppings seem to be everywhere you try to step.

Even though the youngsters are getting to be fairly big in size, it seems like Mom and Dad are still intent on keeping a close watch on them. Great focus and beautiful natural colors.
Ron
