Hello friends, Goodbye my Love it is what
Mrs. Wood duck seems to tell to Mr. Wood duck !

1/2000s f/5.6 ISO1000 50mm (35mm eq:75mm).

from Hinterland Who's Who website

After a long winter in the relatively frost-free
southern United States, Wood Ducks migrate
north to their Canadian breeding grounds,
arriving there by April. Pair formation may
occur on the wintering grounds before or
during spring migration, or on the breeding
grounds if one of the pair is lost.

Mated pairs seek out secluded swamps or
beaver ponds that provide water, nesting sites,
brooding habitat, and feeding areas. Females often
return to the same general area in which they
were hatched, sometimes accompanied by mates
that were hatched far away.

Hello Asbed,
These are some of my favorite ducks to view here in Ohio. The males are absolutely gorgeous with their array of vivid colors and unique markings, but the females are also very attractive.
The backlighting in your photo makes all the difference, especially the way the females wings are illuminated from behind. Wonderful sharpness to the overall image and nice stop action. Great job!!

Hello Asbed,
照的清晰 很漂亮的鴨子
鴨子反射出很美的光澤 非常有質感
水中樹的倒影 很有藝術氣息 真是一個美麗的畫面
構圖美麗 背景深遂

Hello Asbed,
Really beautiful sight.Nice caption. One Duck flying away taking the warm light on its wings and chest and another still floating on the water.Natural look with splendid reflection of trees on water.Beautiful atmosphere here.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice time,

Thanks again Asbed for enlisting my picture in your Favourite african animals list. This encouragement helps me to capture better picture.

Hello Asbed,

Hope you are well. Yes, this time you are away from your favourite woods and around the margin of a lake/swamp somewhere. The flight scene of this wood duck was definitely captured from a distance but the bird in-flight is looking really wonderful. This is a great shot and I appreciate your consistency and timing. Thanks a lot for sharing, take care,

warm regards,

Hello Asbed.
The light is fabulous and the moment captured is beautiful. Excellent shot and thanks for sharing.

Hi Asbed,

Glorious light, excellent timing, however you have missed the shot here in my opinion, the twigs on the left spoil this otherwise great opportunity, either get in closer or use a longer lens, nevertheless a good attempt,

Best Regards,

Superb one, a real beauty.
Love the angle, light and warm color.
It is awesome.

Ciao Asbed, great capture of lovely couple, beautiful ambientation, fascinating refllections, excellent clarity, wonderful colors and splendid light, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio
