Oenanthe isabellina (Temminck 1829)
Isabelline Wheatear.

Oenanthe isabellina is a small passerine bird in the family Saxicolidae. It is a small insectivorous species 15–16.5 cm long.
It is like a female Northern Wheatear but it is larger in length, more upright and more tawny in colour, and has more black on its tail. Sexes are similar.
It is a migratory bird breeding in southern Russia and central Asia to Northern Pakistan, wintering in Africa and India. It is a very rare vagrant to western Europe.
In Cyprus Oenanthe isabellina is a very common spring passage migrant from late February to early May. Smaller numbers in the autumn.

Hello Christodoulos,

A very good image of this Isabelline. We have some thousands of pair in Anatolia however you have an another lovely species, the lovely Cyprus Wheatear :) Cyprus is just very close to Turkey however i have never been to there and being eager to see it. I remember from Southern part, the Hypocolious and House crow. All amazing!

Bom dia Christodoulos,
Could not be better. I want to emphasize the great pleasure it gives contemplate such a beautiful photo.
