The Red-eared Sliders turtle (Trachemys scripta elegans) is a semi-aquatic turtle (terrapin) belonging to the family Emydidae. It is a native of the southern United States, but has become common in various areas of the world due to the pet trade. They are very popular pets in the United States, Canada, England and Netherlands. It is native to the southern United States and northern Mexico, but has become established in other places because of pet releases and has become an invasive species in many areas, where it outcompetes native species.
PL żłw czerwonolicy (żłw czerwonouchy) to podgatunek żłwia ozdobnego z podrzędu żłwi skrytoszyjnych z rodziny żłwi błotnych. Długość pancerza od 12,5 - 28,9 cm. Żłwie te są w Polsce uznawane za gatunek inwazyjny, co oznacza, że nie wolno ich wypuszczać do środowiska naturalnego.
