Another Himalayan bird from my recent trip...

The Himalayan Bulbul (Pycnonotus leucogenys) is a species of songbird in the Pycnonotidae family. Mainly found in the northern regions of the Indian Subcontinent as well as some adjoining countries (Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Tajikistan).
The length of this bird is about 18 cm, wingspan of 25.5 to 28 cm and the weight of an average of about 30 g. The bird's head, throat and crest are black and white. The back side and the lengthy tail are brown, the underside is pale yellow . Both sexes have the same color. The song is a beautiful 4-piece whistle, which resembles an accelerated Oriole whistle. These birds are found in forests and in the rich shrub layer. Can also be found in gardens and roadsides.

Satirtha,
As children, in Goa, India we used to listen to its LOVELY song.
Love your notes and the well focused image.
GREAT EYE CONTACT.
It was "posing" just for you.
Friendly greetings from COLD COLD Canada from,
Mario.

A beautiful capture of this Himalayan Bulbul, Satirtha.
I have lived with this bird in my youth in Himachal and when I see its pictures now, it takes me back into my past.
We do have Himalayan Bulbuls migrating to Jammu in winters, but they are gone now. I tried to capture them here but without much success.
Your picture is sharp with absolutely natural colour tones.
Thanks.
Ram

Satirtha,
nice shot,
so beiteful color, ease action. good point....

Bonsoir Satirtha,
L'angle de prise de vue est intéressant et l'attitude du sujet très belle mais la profondeur de champ me paraît légèrement insuffisante pour apprécier pleinement la finesse des détails.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Gérard

Hello Satirtha,
Nice photo of this bulbul, not in totally sharpness, but good enough to present it here. Beautiful natural colours, despite the difficult light conditions. Fine composition.
Regards,
Peter
