[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I think this is an Thayer's Gull very similar to paler Iceland Gull.

The Thayer's Gull breeds in the high Arctic of Canada and winters along the northern Pacific Coast. It has become a more common winter visitor to the Great Lakes and the East Coast

Thank for viewing

Hi Anna, the white is a bit overexposed and you lost the plumage detail, but only on this zone, the rest is truly perfect, the eye and the beak are a great spectacle! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Arn't you fortunate to get that close to the "Thayer's Gull" Anna?
Beautiful colours of the eye and the edges of its mouth.
Wonder why they carry such a sharp beak? It too has a pleasant colour.
The grey and the white plumage sort of BLEND INTO EACH OTHER.
Very well presented, indeed.

Your bird is a Ring-billed Gull Larus delawarensis, with the classic black band on the yellow bill and the yellow eye clearly visible in your portrait. It is always a challenge to balance the exposure of the white areas with the details in the darker areas, and I think the balance is fairly good here. Maybe just a tiny bit more selective sharpening before posting?

Regards, Nigel.

Ciao Anna, great portrait of lovely gull, White only a bit overexposed but fine details, perfect focus on beautiful eye, splendid sharpness and wonderful natural colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello Anna

As Nigel wrote this is gull it is the
Ring-billed Gull, the portrait it
is beautiful, but if you could go obtain
details of the white part of its plumage
it would be even more beautiful, TFS

Neck portion overexposed and lack of details on plumage. But well portrait..

Very charming portrait of this cute Gull, Anna.
The white management as against the opinion of Mr. Harris is flawless.
Well done!

Hi Anna, nice Japaneses gull with an excellent quality, sharpness, color and light.

Bonjour Anna,
La profondeur de champ me semble insuffisante, principalement sur les hautes lumières, mais c'est tout de même un portrait agréable valorisant relativement bien le sujet.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
