Caterpillars are the worst crop pests in our country. They consume leafy vegetables overnight, as seen in my picture of a Caterpillar I took in the first week of this month.

Caterpillars are the larval form of members of the order Lepidoptera (the insect order comprising butterflies and moths). They are mostly herbivorous in food habit, although some species are insectivorous. Caterpillars are voracious feeders and many of them are considered to be pests in agriculture. Many moth species are better known in their caterpillar stages because of the damage they cause to fruits and other agricultural produce.

Hi Ram.
I see that your photo model works hard and it was able to bring down the whole leaf.
I like a very nice vertical composition, impressive dark BG, excellent details of the caterpillar and plant. Surroundings are blurred very nicely too. Warm regards and TFS.

Hi Ram,i don't know the specie,sorry,but i like a lot the perfection of this pic,not easy to take perfect detail like yours along the caterpillar,truly excellent this macro,well exposed and with great colors too.Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ram,
An awesome photo of this uniquely marked caterpillar. I don't believe I have ever seen one with black splotched marking like this before. The long green body sparsely covered with tiny hairs is quite attractive. Focus is superb, allowing not only the caterpillar, but also the ravaged plant to be seen in fine detail. Great work!1
