[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The photo was taken from my home yard, where the bird is a usual visitor.
Loten's Sunbird is also known as Long-billed Sunbird or Maroon-breasted Sunbird. The species is common here but is endemic to the Indian Peninsular region and Sri Lanka.

It can be confused with Purple Sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus). But the Loten's has longer and curved bills, and brownish belly. Purple Sunbird has dark blue belly and shorter bills.

Hi Abhinav,
So luck to have a yard that attracts such beautiful birds. I whish I could say the same of my urban garden.

The photo is really beautiful with an acceptable central composition, a nice depth with a wonderful soft BG. One could say that the oof leaves in the FG are a little intrusive, but they can also be seen and creating some depth. They do claim some attention away from the bird though and by cropping most away the photo does become more pleasant to look at.

Hi Abhinav,
First of all, welcome to TN. I'm really glad that there's still a newcomer who's able to write a short yet decent note from his head, without copying wikipedia. Your photo's great, composition-wise excellent to say the least... In my opinion the main compositional element isn't the bird himself, but his head with the big beak - therefore the subject is off-centered enough to be pleasant to the viewer. I see some small parts where you lost details, so the pic is overexposed slightly, but surprisingly it isn't disturbing (to me). Sharpness is okay, but may be slightly increased. Your file size is only 97 KB - the closer you are to the 300 KB limit, the sharper photo you have. You can also use the free demo of Neat Image ( www.neatimage.com ), it's a perfect software for noise reduction and selective sharpening.
Well, I know this isn't your first upload to TN - but I wish you great times on the site, enjoy it while learning, posting your photos and commenting of others.
Best regards, László

Hello Abhinav-Beautiful picture.nice presentation.thanks for sharing.regards and have a nice time-Srikumar

This is a very good shot, great capture, detail and composition

Hello Abhinav!
An impressive close-up shot of this beautiful Sunbird. Yes, it can easily be confused with Purple Sunbird. Very good choice of POV to show us the details of its amazing plumage. Very good eye-contact and a beautiful BG. A little noise removal from BG would have brought more beauty to your shot.TFS,
Have a good day,

Hello Abhinav,
What a beautiful bird that reminds me alot of a hummingbird. The iridescent colors in it's plumage are so beautiful and you managed to capture really good eye contact. You are very fortunate to have such a pretty species of bird living in your immediate area. Well done!!
