A very useful bird in terms of conservation of nature, Ron. :)
Delightful portrait of this noisy but handsome thief.
I like the catch-light in its eye.

What a BEAUTY!!!
Such soft colours and a pleasantly impressive presentation.
I read your notes ... you omitted that they are bold enough to steal food from picnickers too.
In other words ... it is a thief. Here is ANOTHER THIEF.
Thanks for sharing.

You've captured the colors accurately, it seems to me, Ron. There is a tendency I have noticed with blue jay pictures to make the blue brighter than it really is, which you have not done here. The head seems a bit out of focus its as if the focus was on the tail feathers.

That's a beautiful blue jay, Ron.
Very different from our western jays.
Really like the colors and the markings.

Nice close-up image. No doubt a very beautiful bird. I still have not been able to photograph this species. They are not native to Washington state at least that is what they are saying. I took a trip up the Washington coast a couple months back and actually saw one. I reported it to the Audubon society but they did not reply back, apparently they were not interested or they did not believe me. I never got a photo of it as I was not prepared plus the evening lighting was terrible due to heavy overcast. Still interest in going back to same location to possibly snap up some images of them.

Very beautiful photo of the Blue Jay, shot with fine POV and I like the
vertical framing you give it, beautiful color tones of the background sky
matching with the bird's plumage color tones, TFS
