[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Cicada is is drilling the branch of the tree and sucking sap from inside.

The Cicada belong to the order of the Hemiptera, Auchenorrhyncha, Cicadomorpha, Cicadoidea, Family: Cicadidae.
Its size varies with species, typically measuring 1.5 centimeters to 2 centimeters. The female embedded the eggs in the branches of the trees, when the eggs hatch the larvae drop to the ground, where they begin to dig to find the roots of the tree, pierce the root and placed in it to feed on the sap. They remain in the roots for a period of time ranging from 4 to 17 years. When they have reached sexual maturity they go out of the ground and climb up and goes out of their exuviae. After this metamorphosis they are ready for their aerial life, which is during the hot summer months. During this time they nourish the sap and resin from the tree branches. Then they mate and the female embedded the eggs in the branches of the trees or plants which nourish the larvae.
